Gun lock box for my Truck- Any sugestions

I have a Ford 2004 F350 Crewcab truck. I'm in need of a safe/lock box for it. I did a internet search and found a few possibilities, but most are not specific to my year and make. I have electric seats so a box will not fit under the front seats and under the rear seats is a steel foldout tray that is not removable. So no box can go under there either. Only options I see is center console, or behind the rear seat mount of some kind. I don't want anything mounted visiable. The purpose is to secure my weapon when I can not carry while around town.

Anyway, hope someone out there can point me to a few options and maybe some personnel experience with a F350.

+1 on these. I purchased two of them, and had them keyed the same. I have one it each car, and use it for storage of not only my handgun, but other important items that I just don't trust the glove box for.

In my Ford Expedition, I drilled a hole in the bottom of the center console, and bolted the cable to the floor (used an existing bolt under the center console). It fits nicely in the center console. That might work for you too.

+1 on this as well. I have one of the larger ones and it fits nicely under the electric driver's seat in my van, and is large enough to hold my 5" 1911 (or my wallet when swimming, or...).

They have a cable lock system to secure it to the seat frame or other permanent part of the interior. If you had the backpack version then you could take it with you without raising any eyebrows. They also make bags specific for bikes that looked pretty cool. Ebay usually has cheaper prices than most of the online stores.

I have one of these, and it's very fast to open and very sturdy. 3/16" steel won't get bypassed by a screwdriver like some others. The weakness is the simplex lock, which is strong but has limited combinations. You need to make sure to change it to something that won't get guessed easily.

I bought 3 of the "secure-it" cener of mass type safes...

I can't see where you cvan get more versitile than that...You can use them in the vehicles, and when you travel with little impact on luggage volume, or mods to your vehicle at all...

Plus they are just plain a good deal...

Now if someone came up with a biometric locking system on something that size...Well, I might upgrade...

I especially like the larger one (MODEL #41216-S) that is wide enough to stick a laptop in, too.

I have a safe exactly like the center of mass one, but I use it for another purpose. I leave it halfway exposed under the seat and keep my gun in the glovebox. The little safe makes a good distraction and they'll spend their trying to pull the safe off the cable.

A pair of scissors or even a serrated knife will easily cut through that cable. I drilled holes on the bottom of the safe, bolted a bracket to the safe, and used heavy duty bicycle chain to secure it to my seat. =)

I haven't seen these in person, but that cable must be really small to be able to cut through it with scissors/ serrated knife.

I have crimped and made my own (very) small diameter cables before, and the only way I could cut it was with a Dremel or Sawzall. Large Bolt cutters and heavy duty Wire cutters would only flatten the cable, not cut it.

If I bought one of these boxes, could I make my own cable? Or is the hole very small and would require drilling it out?

Also what is the quality of the lock?

I was really starting to like the looks of this lockbox, but I understand it is only intended to prevent a snatch

I found these guys last year when looking for something for my Explorer. Their products do not fit the Explorer, but they do make center consoles for F-Series trucks.

Looks like a good product, but a bit pricey. When my Explorer dies, I'll probably get an F-Series truck and put one of these in.
