Holster Recommendation for my Gun

#1

Post by chadster »

Hey guys. I have a quick question. I am looking for an IWB holster for my Taurus PT140 MIllenium Pro (40 cal)

I've heard that it is pretty tough to find good holsters for Taurus guns.

Here's the catch though. I'm a lefty, which makes it a little tougher.

Any suggestions?

It looks like a Kholster Crescent is made for your pistol.

Don't let the looks fool you. These are incredibly comfortable and durable holsters. I do recommend ordering a set of Kydex clips to replace the metal clips.

From one lefty to another:

Here are some of the better ones from Galco:

The Mitch Rosen "Express Line" of holsters are available to fit almost any gun, left or right handed: http://www.mitchrosen.com/product_line/ ... _line.html. You'll have to call them to get availability.

The Crossbreed Supertuck is available for the PT140: http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/Super ... roductName

From Bianchi:
The Shadow II Pancake: http://www.bianchi-intl.com/product/Pro ... tModelID=7
The Pistol Pocket IWB: http://www.bianchi-intl.com/product/Pro ... ModelID=3S

There really are tons more, but that's all I've got time for. Believe me, just like for most things "left-handed," there are plenty of options. You just have to do a little more research, and you may pay a few bucks more for some things.

Let me also make a suggestion. I like really nice custom holsters, and carry in Milt Sparks, Del Fatti and Alessi holsters, but my first foray into the custom holster world was with K & D Holsters. http://kdholsters.com/index.php Actually, it was also for a Taurus, but a PT 145 Pro...couldn't resist 10+1 in 45 ACP in that small of a package. Anyway, I ordered an IWB from Kevin and have enjoyed it as much as my more expensive holsters. I don't remember the exact price, but it was around $85-100 I think. Personally I don't really care for IWB, but this holster, which is leather, is so thin that I can carry quite comfortably. I am also a lefty, and know how difficult finding things can be.

Now his site is not the greatest, and I couldn't even find a photo of my holster, so I'll try and get a photo of mine and post it up either tonight or tomorrow.

I recommend the Super Tuck style holsters, I think you can't beat them for comfort. I wear my SR9C all day and forget it's there. I carry in a Galco King Tuk, which I like better than the Crossbreeds. I always recommend to people that they go to Cabela's or somewhere with a bunch of holsters, and pick out some they like then head to the gun counter. Have them take out whatever gun you're looking to carry and test fit it with different holsters...if you find one you like, or something close, you can always order it online. I've bought way too many holsters based on what they SAY they will fit, but there's no substitute for getting your hands on them.

Kydex all the way imo. Crossbreed Supertuck imo.
