Here's my Poor Man's "Bill Wilson Carry".
Springer Ultra Compact .45acp (all steel).
I have done lots of things to it while waiting for my Special Order Ed Brown Special Forces to arrive (sometime in November - I hope).
Anyway, this Springer now has Custom Slide Carry Cuts by a machinist/gunsmith Friend of mine in Iowa. If anyone wants to do theirs, PM me and I will give you his info. Turnaround time is about a week and his prices are VERY REASONABLE.

Nothing wrong with a Springfield! Nice 1911's.. That Ed Brown looks like a sound choice. Looking forward to the day I can get away with splurging on a nice piece like that.

Re: Poor Man's "Bill Wilson Carry"
The actual items I have changed are:
Recoil system to Wilson 2 piece GR w/ 24# spring.
Fitted oversize FPS (to eliminate extractor clocking) with slight bevel at bottom.
Eliminated ILS with EGW SS MSH w/ Ed Brown internals.
Replaced MIM Ambi safety with Wilson part.
Custom carry cuts.
Afzelia Grips by Sarge.
Now, some of you may remember that I have previously stated that I would not have a 1911 with a FLGR. I still stand by that in full sized/commander models but with this 3.5" gun it works very well to replace the dual captive spring setup with faux guide rod that is stock (which I hate even more than a FLGR).

The Bill Wilson Carry also has a round butt MSH.... you should consider trying it. I took the plunge with my Ultra CDPII- it made a huge difference in both carry and shooting comfort! My only complaint is that I didn't do it sooner!

I don't think I'll do it on this 3.5" one, but thanks for the tip!

Re: Poor Man's "Bill Wilson Carry"
I think the bobbed MSH is one of the best innovations on the 1911. I have done that to all my carry ones, it is cheap to do and makes a world of difference. Even the 3" models can be rounded a little bit.
