As long as NATO and the US Military are using 9mm, it will stay inexpensive.

I've read that the US military is considering scrapping the Beretta and also going for a larger caliber like the .40. That would be a great situation because two things will then happen.

9mm will become dirt cheap for about 6 months and then become very expensive after all the army surplus is gone. I will be stocking up.

.40 cal will then become much less expensive.

OK, that's three things and yes, Inspect any wwb that you purchase before shooting it. I recently CHL tested some folks who were shooting WWB 100 pack in 9mm and they couldn't finish the test because of all the lockups that the ammo was causing. The cases and rims were very mis-shaped for some reason. It was like trying to load bananna bullets or something.

I remember 10 years ago or so when surplus .30 cal Carbine ammo was dirt cheap. Now the surplus is gone and the regular ammo is like gold. I had to stop using my li'l carbine for plinking and I haven't shot it in years.

I just picked up online some 40 cal 180 grain Bonded Hollow point Winchester Q4369 ammo. It is supposed to be overrun ammo manufactured for a goverment three letter agency.....
It cost me $149.95 for 500 rounds, which would be the same as $29.95 for a 100 round box. Of course I had to pay shipping which would have been about equal to our state sales tax...so about an even wash.
