I'm so excited about our girls night out at Spring Guns & Ammo on Wednesday 10/26. I'm bringing two others with me!

Funny story...I had talked to one girl's husband about if she might want to come with me (he's an avid gun nut). I went to see her today in the company of another lady whose positions I'm not sure of (she has lived in the northeast for much of her life...)

So I was telling the first girl about this event, but didn't want to exclude the other lady, either, if she wanted to come. I was telling them of another person who had already committed to coming with me. This person had said she was more familiar with rifles than handguns, but liked to shoot whatever. The lady from the northeast asked me why I prefered handguns. I told her that it was more a matter of starting small and practicality. I said, "Its not like I'm going to strap on a rifle and carry it around the neighborhood!" She responded, "It's not like you'd be carring around a handgun, either!" (Little did she know I was carrying!) I just said, "Right?!" as though in total agreement! "rlol"

It's going to be a funny conversation when I get back together with the girl I was actually inviting who know I have my CHL! And it confirms that I was right about my suspicions about my friend from the northeast!

See yall on Wednesday! I just got Lasik on Monday, so we will see how sighting goes since my near vision isn't as sharp as it was with my glasses.

Terrific!!!

I was thinking the Northwest Houston Chapter was going to start small but maybe not! I think we have about 10 confirmed. Maybe Northwest Houston will outdo the Southeast Houston Chapter. They had 25 for their kickoff. No matter how we play it, it's gonna be a good time!! I can't wait to meet all of you.

I love to see things like this. There's not near enough ladies involved in shooting sports. To top it off, there's not a one I have met that I didn't think highly of. :tiphat:

North Houston Ladies,

Tonight's the night!!! Spring Guns and Ammo - A Girl and a Gun - Girls Night Out. Starts at 6:00 pm. Range fee of $15.00. Come and shoot with other women who enjoy shooting. This will be a monthly event on the fourth Wednesday of each month. With tonight as the kickoff, we'll be getting to know each other and spending some time target shooting. Later we'll incorporate fun events and casual competitions into our night out.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Thanks to TLynn and the "Austin Girls" from A Girl and a Gun for a fun Meet and Greet at SGA! Had a ball! It was great to see TLynn, and meet several new ladies! I had volunteered to bring a variety of firearms in case folks wanted to try something different. Due to the nature of my job, I didn't want to take a bunch of pistols and ammo and leave them in my car all day, so my sweet hubby packed me up and delivered them to me at the range. I went to the restroom when I arrived to disarm so I could practice with my sidearm. I had to giggle out loud when I opened the briefcase style gun case and saw the "arsenal" that MAR had packed for me. M&P9C, Bodyguard 380, Sig 1911-22, Colt Cobra 38 snubby, S&W K frame 38, and room for my Sig P238 380. Then in the range bag were eyes, ears, ammo and my M&P JG9 in a bag, magazines and speed loaders.

It was fun to have a variety to shoot for myself, and even more fun to share! It was great fun to see someone new that brought a fun 22 single action revolver. Asked her if she would like to try my K frame, and she wasn't so sure, but watched me, then decided she would try. She LOVED it! It was so fun to see her face! She also liked my P238 and of course the little 1911-22 is a blast, that was the first Semi auto she had ever fired!

It is so fun to share what I have learned with others. Keeps you on your toes and makes you really watch what you are doing. Learned new things from others too. We are planning a shoot in heels! Changes your stance, and none of us had ever practiced in heels before, but one of the ladies mentioned they had a theme night and it really put their "game off" so to speak, and really effected her performance. Things we don't think about!

Thanks again TLynn, and I am thinking a lovely emerald green! ;-)

You are most welcome!! A great time was had by all!

Spring Guns and Ammo was good enough to allow us to have the entire pistol side of the range, so we could shoot a little, step back and chat a little, share guns and help each other out.

It's going to be fun deciding on events, competition and activities for the group. We'll have to do something down the road where we get the Northwest Houston group together with the Southeast Houston group....talk about fun!!!

Thanks to forum members Divided Attention, bluejay71 and marinemom for showing up and shooting with us, along with several other non-forum members. I think this is the start of something great! I'm already looking forward to next month!

And...you're in luck, I have green on hand. Emerald green was one that I wanted to try out. I should be working on them this weekend.
