Outdoor channel no longer available in Austin?

#1

Post by O6nop »

I tuned in to the Outdoor Channel on Time Warner in Austin and it says no longer available. I was watching it just a couple hours earlier and it was there. I called th cable company and they said it moved and was now called VS. That's bull because I was already getting VS and Outdoor Channel. It wasn't moved it was REmoved. Is anyone else bothered by this?

This had some really good programming like Personal Defense TV, Shooting USA, Guns & Ammo TV American Rifleman, Spirit of the Wild and more.

It was the Outdoor Life Network that became VS.

Thanks Mike, for that info. I guess it was a temporary thing because it's back on now. The service rep there wasn't too bright giving me wrong information, I wasn't too bright for being impatient, but I missed a good show because of them.

I know.

I missed episode 3 of the Personal Defense series.

I found out about it late and started recording at episode 8.

When the reruns started, I was determined to get them all. Either the schedule was off, or the DVR messed up or something. I missed 3 and since now are reruns, I can't expect them to run again.

I've got a whole mess of Shooting Gallery, Guns & Ammo, Shooting USA, PD to transfer from DVR to DVD.

Are you guys receiving channel 490, the Otdoor Channel without paying a premium? I was receiving this before and then one day it says I'm not authorized. There's nothing more I hate than "not authorized". I have digital cable and premium programming so I guess I should call. I thought it was a Time Wrner Austin issue, but if some of you are getting it I want it back.

It's a premium now, I think with aother 400 sports channels It costs $1.99/month or something like that to get it. But, the other night, when I started this thread, it showed unavailable. After 20 minutes on hold and 5 minutes trying to get the customer service person to help, I gave up. I asked about Outdoor Channel and they said it was replaced with VS, another sport channel, but as Mike 1951 pointed out, they must have thought I meant OLN (Outdoor Life Network). Outdoor channel came back on a little later, but I've lost respect for Time Warners CS. At least for now. Usually they are extremely helpful.
