"Pocket Gun" Journey Has Halted HERE

Colt D frames, Smith J frames, Taurus Slims, LC9's, etc, etc.

Both LC9's (mine and the Mrs) unceremoniously dropped mag's mid string, so they got sold pronto.

MrsDoc now totes a Kahr CW9 (she has a little more room with purse carry) while my SmartCarry hides a CM9.

Yet to find anything I don't like:

well made
well designed
compact
narrow
excellent trigger and action
accurate
cycles dependably
relatively inexpensive
9mm caliber
simple and durable

I didn't describe the one at 11 o'clock as "cute" when I shot it.

Those flyers happen every now and then and are without explanation.

All kidding aside, that is a very nice little gun. I would even consider that for a BUG that I would keep in an ankle holster inside a boot. I don't have a 9mm yet. I'll have to keep this one on my radar.

Ha, this made me laugh...they do happen without explanation! Couldnt have said it better myself! I'll shoot one like it and look at my gun like the sights are broken or something. My girlfriend laughs like none other when it happens as she doesn't have them. I don't get it! Good stuff!

Back on topic tho, the gun looks nice, I'd really like to shoot it. She just got the new nano and I'm considering the new s&w one. That group is encouraging.

Do the CM9 and PM9 not share or come with the same flat 6 round magazine? The magazine in picture reminds me of what the regular CW9 and P9 magazines look like on them, but the PM9's are close to flush and metal/aluminum at base - not poly with a hint on finger curve comfort.

Has Kahr started making a new version of 6 rounder magazines?

Good eye!

What do real men do with a new gun?

Modify it, of course! :thumbs2:

I swapped the 6 round, metal baseplate with a CW9, 7 round, plastic baseplate.

You have to remove just a tad bit of material off the top of the plastic baseplate so the mag fully seats and engages in the CM9 frame.

Be sure and keep the plastic and metal magazine base locks matched with their respective baseplates.

Just that little bit of plastic gives my third finger something to grip, and it does improve my control.

I have the PM9—essentially the same pistol with some cosmetic upgrades—and it is my favorite pocket gun. Kahr makes nice little pistols. The CM9 became available just weeks after I purchased my used PM9 from a pawnshop. If the CM9 had been available, I would have most likely saved a little money and bought it instead. Instead, I got a used gun in nearly new condition with black slide and factory night sights, for about $100 more than the NIB price of a CM9.

I started carrying a CW9 about 3 years ago, and have been so pleased that I added a CM9 in February. I had the Trij night sights installed on the CW9 shortly after I bought it, and am considering just installing the front sight XS Big Dot, or a TFO (if I can find it) on the CM9.

If you can find sights on a micro slide during a gunfight, you're a better man than I am.

It's gonna be point and pray for me.

I made sure to get night sights on my PM9 for one reason; they help me find it in the dark. It is definitely a point and pray weapon in a gunfight. And I LOVE my Kahr. You can't go wrong with them IMO.

I've been eye balling this gun for a while now and think its about time to purchase. Any recommendations on holsters for pocket carry? What do you use and do you like it?

Thanks!

Any of the Desantis pocket holsters work well. I use the version with removable flap most the time to reduce printing - believe its called Super Fly. I also have the Nemisis and it works well once broke in. For first few carries, if you drew your Kahr and didn't apply pressure against your leg or outside pocket liner, your weapon will have it's pocket home join the party undesirably (unless you have tight pockets)!

Desantis works for me, the Superfly as mentioned above.

Wore it last night out to dinner and to hear some music on an outdoor patio.

Wore a pair of khakis, and the Desantis printed about like a cellphone with an upgraded battery.
