As of today over 4000 rounds through my XDm 9

#1

Post by daniel2002p »

Just came back from the range and as of today my EDC Xdm 3.8 9mm Compact has over 4000 rounds through it, and not a single FTF or FTE or any failures whatsoever. I am very impressed with this gun, it has been eating anything from cheapo Federal value pack and WWB from Wal-Mart to my PD ammo HST 147gr.

Came home spent the last two hours cleaning it and it looks as good as it did when I first purchased it... I feel confident in carrying this weapon as my EDC.

1)Treat firearms as if they are loaded. 2)Point the muzzle away from non-targets.
3)Keep fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot. 4)Be sure of your target and backstop.

I have the .45 ACP version, and it is indeed a great gun.

Thank you, this is good to hear. I, too, rely on that model for my EDC.

For my part, I've put just over a thousand rounds through mine without a single hiccup. This has been, mostly, inexpensive 115gr ball ammunition for training, but also some good-quality JHP that I run through every few months to keep the supply fresh.

Mine has seen far less than that. I've had about 400 rounds though it so far. The first time out, I did have a couple of FTFs after the gun got real dirty. But it has been good to go since then.

I have around 2000 rounds through my 3.8 XDm 9mm and I can report the same perfect track record. I can't say enough good things about it. I've shot it dirty and I've shot it when it could use more lube. I've tried different brands of target and defensive ammo and it fires it all. If there is a downside, its that I have to remind myself I should still practice malfunction drills :biggrinjester:

I love my XDm-9 ... since I'm retired and spend most of the year in shorts, I pocket carry and so my EDC is a Kahr PM9 ... but I've got probably 600 rds through my Springer so far and have also had no issues whatsoever ... it's a tackdriver at 7 and 15 yds and if it had night sights -- one of these days -- it would replace my beloved Springer Loaded 1911 as my nightstand gun ... reliable, super accurate and huge capacity ... can't go wrong ...
