Suicide by cop. That's the first thing it made me think.

I'm guessing most folks are initially disinclined to pay the cost for a quality holster and belt, (I know I was and I can afford quality) because they've already expended a lot of money for the cost of a pistol, CHL, etc. - so the relatively high cost of a holster and belt make them cringe...so they think they'll save money if they buy low end holsters/belts/etc.

As time progresses, they experience the poor service for their equipment dollars and ultimately go on to pay the cost for quality gear.

Please, don't make that mistake.

It's less costly to buy quality up front when you consider the cost of buying low end gear - only to reject it for better stuff...

there is absolutely nothing wrong with those clip holsters, if you buy a good one for a small gun. if you're buying one for a larger gun, well it's not going to work well. I've been using a clip holster for my LCP for a couple of years, it's still tight. my husband has been using one for his little gun for longer than I can remember, and it's still tight. get a good holster, check it often and be sensible when buying.

now, as for the OP question....well, that's already been answered.

Is that perhaps a "licensed open carry" holster?

Actually, you may be right about that.
