Shot my first IDPA match today in Beaumont. Was a great group of people and an informal type match, more just about having fun. I look forward to making this a regular habit. How many others here shoot idpa?

Where was the match? I live in the area and would like to go watch some and possibly start participating.

It was at the Golden Triangle Gun Club at the end of Erie St. The matches are the first and third Saturday of every month starting at 9 am.

I've recently started shooting Monday night matches (Team Trainwreck) at the Arms Room in League City. They are an absolutely excellent group of people - focused on safety, making new shooters feel welcome, passing on knowledge, and having a great time.

I've read several things on IDPA and it sounds like most of the people involved are pretty easy going and always willing to make a newbie feel welcomed. It also looks like it could be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to going to observe a few matches and possibly joining in.
