Small carry gun Shield, LC 9, or a small Sig

Think about a Kahr CM9 in a Desantis holster for pocket carry. Very small, great trigger and just keeps getting better. And its price point is just above the LC9. But not prohibitive for a small 9mm.

I would pay that. I planned on picking one up at the last gun show but they were $675 and up.

1) See the gun you want, but it's way overpriced
2) Haggle with the seller, finally get him to consider taking $50 less (but still way overpriced)
3) Get interrupted by a guy who hands the dealer $100 more cash than his asking price, dealer tells you to get stuffed
4) Walk the aisles more
5) Repeat

If by "these days" you mean the last 6 weeks, I would agree.

I liked the nano on paper.. Having held it multiple times I just don't like it. That's the one gun that is always available when everything else is sold out..

I second the pm9/cm9. Great little gun once broken in and some polishing work. I'm also waiting ever so patiently on the XDs. My edc is currently an XD40sc so I'm actually waiting or the XDs 40.

I am one of those whose really likes my Beretta Nano. After 1050 rounds I completely trust it for SD carry. It is very accurate and I have also added the Lasermax to it. Even with the laser it conceals well in the right front jeans pocket or in all 3 holsters that I have. Shoots 115gr ammo like a champ. Give this gun a good look. Beretta solidly stands behind it.

I took basic and defensive pistol classes this past weekend and started out using my XDs but got eaten alive on the tac reload requirements in defensive pistol. Ended up having to switch to. My XD 9sc to meet the class requirements.

Here is a Nano / XDs comparison video. Interesting stuff. I compared both of these before I bought my Walther PPS in December (which I really like). All three are gong to be hard to find, especially the XDS 9mm and Nano as they are new, highly sought after firearms. I tried out the XDs .45 at the time but the new 9mm is the same frame with a 9mm barrel so specs will be the same but recoil different. And, you can't go wrong with either a Walther or Beretta as both are very tightly manufactured guns with great reputation and customer service.

I would be interested in hearing more detail on the issues you had with "the tac reload requirements in defensive pistol". Specifically, the requirements as well as your difficulty. I am getting ready to book a tactical training class and reloading in-drill is part of that.

BHNC...I only had one 7 round and one 5 round mag. I misplaced my other 5 rounder. There were several timed draw from holster drills that required access to no less than 14 rounds so without another mag I was SOL. Next time I will have at least two 7 rounders and two five rounders on two belt clips. In the closed quarters drill in which we weren't allowed a reload, we needed at least 10 rounds.

I am sure you punched plenty of holes in the 8 and 9 rings for the instructor to forgive your magazine transgression.
