I emailed the NRA last Friday, and have yet to receive a reply. I'll wait a few more days and see if I get a response. I most certainly am not going to pick up the phone and call! :totap:
Heck, there's another thread about those of us not getting any NRA emails and wondering why!

Specifically, what messages are they sending you?

Seems like I get less junk from them since upgrading to "life".

I joined the NRA several years ago and then dropped out when they supported a Democrat that I have no use for (Chet Edwards, D, carpet bagger Waco). I rejoined as an annual member about three years ago and upgraded to Life last year, Endowment this year and will make another upgrade next year. I also have joined GOA and TSRA as a life member.
this is obviously as a reaction to the constitution destroying want-to-be dictator illegal alien in the White House (other descriptional words relating to his ancestry omitted). These groups need all of the support they can garner.

I have a son and grandson that are NRA lifers at their expense and a daughter that is an annual member at my expense.

I have also donated to the NRA-ILA since they are the legal front for the NRA and will continue to drop a few bucks in their kitty as the year progresses... FWIW, I am a fixed income retiree.

I have edited my profile to receive only that which I want, I expect the current backlog is delaying updates but even normally it takes awhile. I would call NRA and ask for my member number, I did.

Amusing, I dropped my membership because they supported Romney. While he may have been the lesser of two evils for the NRA, I think they could have sent a clear message to the Republican party that they won't get a free ride. Romney has signed anti-gun legislation as governor, and as such should not have been endorsed by the NRA in my opinion.

The only thing I receive from them electronically is their online magazine thingy, which I think is monthly. I get absolutely nothing hard copy in the mail advertising or asking for donations etc., I do however receive America's 1st Freedom magazine by choice.

Romney is old news - hopefully you have seen the error of your ways - oh, welcome to the forum

Today, I received a reply to an email requesting my Member ID. I now have it, have been online, and have updated what I do and don't want to receive from the NRA.

I did run into one minor problem, and that was the NRA's insistence on providing a phone number. My old reliable 012-345-6789 wouldn't work on their website, so I used my backup fake number which is 555-555-5555 which did work on their website.

You need to give them a chance. The NRA is not one guy sitting at one computer. There are multiple related automatic response programs tied to memberships. Your request has to run through several programs in order to be met.

I called them and asked to be put on the do not promote list. Problem solved: No more excessive electronic or physical mails... and it's remained that way for two years.

I rejoined for the $10.00 annual membership - no magazine plus no junk mail.

Such a deal, said in my best Jackie Mason voice...
