Download the app and enter the address of police stations, federal buildings, court houses, banks, etc.

Sent a message to Ted Cruz. I read somewhere that university facilities and/or time may have been used to create this app. I suggested that University of California grants and funding should be looked at.

Called Verizon and after some discussion which included the fact I have been with them for over 20 years, I was told that the apps on the “play store” were administered by google. I pointed out that the phone was still Verizon and the apps were written to run on Verizon phones. The representative assured me she would look into it and get back to me.

I’m not done yet.

Don't do that. Just flag it as innapropriate. If everybody downloads it and posts to it, it will only rise to the top of Google play store as a popular app.

I couldn't figure out how to flag it, but I did notice it only has one star and over 1000 reviews...that's pretty lousy in the app biz

To flag it, find the app, scroll all the way down to the bottom. There is a flag button.

I could do that on my phone, not on the web version of the Play Store. I've flagged it.

There has been speculation that Stalbaum may have used U of C facilities to do this. Is the school funded with our tax money?

I think it is funny that this jerk is trying to bully gun owners. Now he will be crying to the media about all the letters and phone calls he will be getting.

It seems to me almost a certainty that this fellow, Brett Stalbaum, used U.C. facilities / resources in developing his app. This kind of activity is not generally frowned upon in an academic environment in my experience. So complaining to U.C. or Mr. Stalbaum is not likely to achieve any favorable result.

What needs to be done is create a fire storm of public outcry in California over mis-use of resources of a publicly funded institution. Given the past history of uber-liberial leanings at U.C. the faculty would probably not support snactions against Stalbaum. However, if enough pressure could be brought to bear on the university itself then he may be encourged by the university to seek employment somewhere where he would have to work for a living.

Writing our congressmen to initiate an investigation of federal funding at U.C. would be a great start but since it is a California institution the main focus must come from within the state. Although a federal suit regarding the Texas law regarding publication of gun owners names / addresses would be a great start.
