Re: Dressing up my AR 15
Thanks I am added more this weekend if all my parts get here.
I got the sling as a gift - I sure wished it was black.

That is a nice leather sling. It will darken with time. You are doing a great job!

Re: Dressing up my AR 15
When I put a flashlight on mine I'm putting it on the forearm. I prefer to keep my receiver area clear. Otherwise looking good.

Re: Dressing up my AR 15
Have you considered replacing your current trigger for a Geissele and a BCM Gunfighter ambidextrous charging handle?
They don't dress it up much, but man are they worth it.
Prepare to gulp with the cost of the trigger, but wow, are they far superior to most stock triggers.

Re: Dressing up my AR 15
Yea I was looking at those but like you said Gulp on the price. also was looking at Timney (sp) triggers to .. Yea I need a different charging handle so maybe before the laser, got to save penny's though.. I really noticed the trigger yesterday trying to sight it in .. went through some ammo before I realized it was the triggger pull that was getting to me.but once I calmed dow I got it close for now. need to fine tune it in a few weeks. thanks
for the ideas..thats why I love this forum > ideas come in..

Re: Dressing up my AR 15
Gunner4640,
Both the Geissele trigger and BCM charging handle were on sale around Christmas at Primary Arms.
I didn't check on the charging handle sale price, but the trigger was $50.00 less than normal retail.
I coulda screamed. (ok, I did)
Heck, you could give em a call to try to find out details on upcoming sales. I've been there in person and you couldn't ask for a nicer/helpful bunch of guys.

Re: Dressing up my AR 15
I'm not knocking the others, because I haven't used them, but I have a Chip McCormick trigger in mine and I love it. It's almost like a hunting rifle trigger.

Re: Dressing up my AR 15
Mine is just your bare bones Colt with magpul furniture. I'm keeping mine as a light handy carbine without much in the way of frills. I like the Magpul forearms since all I'm going to do is add a flashlight. The only other things I'm going to do is add a medium BCM charging handle and either an Aimpoint or a Trijicon. I like the stock trigger on mine. For a sling I'm using a VCAS sling. Right now the optic isn't a priority.
