Shooting the p238 with the 7-round magazines and they keep falling out after anywhere from 1-3 shots. I've tried it with 3 different factory magazines and 2 different ammo brands and they still fall out of the gun. Sometimes it's on the first shot, others it's the last. The magazines are always seated well and I'm positive I'm not hitting the mag release.
Just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem before I ship the gun back to Sig for them to look at. Thanks!

I have not shot the P238, but i have other weapons with the mag release easily pressed and have dropped the mag a couple of times when I had not intended to.
I would consider taking aim at your target and watching (or having someone else) watch your mag release and how your hands or fingers are touching it.

Thanks for the tip, the mag release is in a fairly inconvenient location. However, I am 100% positive it isn't the shooter. I shot it along with a friend, and it happened to both of us who were watching each others hands to be sure.Teamless wrote:I have not shot the P238, but i have other weapons with the mag release easily pressed and have dropped the mag a couple of times when I had not intended to.

I even completely modified my grip just to make sure I could replicate the issue without anything near the mag release. I shot it and duplicated the problem many times with my thumb way out of place low on the grip.

You need to replace the mag catch spring....I ordered one from wolf springs..basically what yu need is the spring for a reg size 1911 it is a little stronger..I had this problem with a colt mustang 380...replaced the spring with one for a colt commander worked just fine...If it is to tight for your preference simply cut it 2 coils longer than your factory spring
