A Great tool to use to discuss with anti's

I'm in the middle of an IM (instant messenger) discussion over the 2A with good friend of mine. She is a neat girl, very conservative except for wanting to infringe upon the 2A "for the kids." She is very intelligent and we are having a good discussion so far.

Here is a write up I am using while we decipher the intent of the framers:

I have already gone through the swimming pools figures and I told her that her fight for child safety is misplaced and innefficient since it is targeting a secondary threat to child safety. I encouraged her to adopt a Triage theory when dealing with issues of "for the kids" IF that is really what its about.

I will post an update later. Thought I would pass this on.

If she is as intelligent as you say, then it should not be that hard of a sale...

I think she might be trying see how hard it is for you to sell her on the idea...And thats ok, you can certainly do it...Yer a smart guy...

That link has some good info to explain away all the semantic/emotional arguments against our right to keep and bear arms...

I think she knows this already...

If there ever was a right to "choose" to keep and bear arms, that would be something she should at least state...

If she chooses to "not" keep and bear arms, then that is certainly her right to do so...And I could respect that...

I think she would understand that idea...

well she played the militia = army card so we had to backtrack and take care of that point first.

The article I posted by the DOJ does a great job of destroying that notion.

Now onto points like defense etc.

So she's up to speed on the differences between a militia and a regular army thing...good...That certainly is a start...

Go over to PDO...They have a story over there about a self-defense shooting on Garland Rd. in Dallas last night...It happened about a block from where my Grandmother lives...

The article is everything we loath about how these incidences are reported...See if she see's the hypocracy...

That may open the door for more "shooting in self defense" discussions...

I assume thats where there may be some hills to climb...

Keep up the good work muh man...
