Something tells me AndyC's is made of kevlar.

His beard is made of kevlar. The rest of him is Chobham armor plate, except his legs, which are like mighty oaks. He's got no butt though.Pawpaw wrote:Something tells me AndyC's is made of kevlar.

He has no butt because what he eats never gets to his stomach...he just chews 'em up and spits 'em out...

I think I will take my odds with no hat. That would have to be like being hit in the head with a baseball bat. I'd like to see that hat on a melon then shot to see what the impact is like to the melon.

As long as it's not my melon, sounds good to me...TBJK wrote:I think I will take my odds with no hat. That would have to be like being hit in the head with a baseball bat. I'd like to see that hat on a melon then shot to see what the impact is like to the melon.

I started a different thread and had forgotten about this one. Paw Paw reminded me. Here is a video of two 9mm rounds being fired into the hat, which is only protective from the front. This is a different hat than theone Andy has.

Not sure about this one, but aren't there cases of survivors hit in the noggin, the bullet deflected by whatever they call the goo that attaches your scalp to your headbone? (Sorry for the specific medical terms, but I like precision of expression.)
Maybe a tough cloth that would enhance the deflection of a non-direct bullet strike would do some good.
But the big question is whether the manufacturer will trust their own products, like Davis trusts his Second Chance vests - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A concussion is better than a bullet in the brain. But who is willing to suffer concussions just to prove that the cap would stop bullets from going into the brain???

Re: Bullet Proof Ballcap????
I'm not going to rush out and buy a $125.00 ball cap, but it probably does have some value.
I don't think you're likely to survive a square-on hit, but it might provide enough deflection of an angled shot.
Given the dynamics of most encounters and the fact that our noggins are round, I think there is a high likelihood the bullet would strike a glancing blow.
