Got my P938 back..
I just got my 938 back from Sig, as you may recall it was brand new and the hammer followed. Sig said that they replaced the hammer, sear, and the main spring housing. They also said they test fired it with no malfunctions. I won't be able to go to the range until Tuesday to give it my own try out. I just hope that it will function like it should. I guess the turn around time wasn't too bad, 11 days including a weekend. I am disappointed in the fact that the mag they sent back is not the one I sent with it, this one is stainless and mine was black to match the pistol. I didn't realize it when I picked it up, I was in a hurry, but I will let the shop know about it.
I'll let you know hoe it rubs after Tuesday, wish me luck.

11 days is pretty darn good. Knowing Sig your gun will be working as advertised.
The 238/938 have had a number of magazine related issues. If I remember correctly the 238 is on the 4th generation of mags so they might have replaced the one in your 938 in order to make sure all would work properly.

What he said ^^^. Plus, I'd wager that the stainless mag is a better unit. It's inside the gun where I can't see it, so I wouldn't let that color bother me.

I didn't know about the mag problems, you may be right in that they gave me a better/later version.CoffeeNut wrote:11 days is pretty darn good. Knowing Sig your gun will be working as advertised.

Right you are…nobody will see it anyway. I am trying to find an extended mag and I think they are stainless also. The Annoyed Man wrote:What he said ^^^. Plus, I'd wager that the stainless mag is a better unit. It's inside the gun where I can't see it, so I wouldn't let that color bother me.

Good luck, hope it works like a well oiled machine!
Re: Got my P938 back..
Good luck. My P938 needed a few hundred rounds to work smooth. I also had to get used to it, it is small and recoil management is just different in comparison to a heavier gun. The carry weight and size is outstanding.Canon1d4 wrote:I just got my 938 back from Sig, as you may recall it was brand new and the hammer followed. Re: Got my P938 back..
I have only fired 50 rounds since I got it back, but I plan to shoot more tomorrow. I do find that the safety is MUCH harder to flick on and off than it was before I sent it in. I ask the shop guy about it and he also found it to be real stiff. I will give it some time but I am really not happy with this purchase yet. I have always heard that Sig was a premium weapon and so far I'm not finding that. I hope that I'm wrong, which I will freely admit when I get it to work as it should.

I have the P938 SAS and the safety lever was a bit tough in the beginning too. I'd say every bit of it got smoother after a few hundred rounds. I applied Flitz to the slide which helped a bit as well. The only thing I hate about it is reassembly of the recoil spring and guide rod. One would think SIG could come up with something better on that end

Re: Got my P938 back..
you must have gotten a bad apple which is rare from them. i've had since they came out, 5 different p938's in different colors and never had hiccup in any of them. i also have 2 p238's and neither one of them has had a flaw either with a combined total of over 2k rounds! it might be a pain but keep sending it back and tell them if it's not flawless you want your money back or a new gun!

Re: Got my P938 back..
That's exactly what I intend to do. I'm only sending it back one more time, if it's not right then I'm demanding a new gun or money back.GlockDude26 wrote:you must have gotten a bad apple which is rare from them. i've had since they came out, 5 different p938's in different colors and never had hiccup in any of them. i also have 2 p238's and neither one of them has had a flaw either with a combined total of over 2k rounds! it might be a pain but keep sending it back and tell them if it's not flawless you want your money back or a new gun!
Re: Got my P938 back..
I have found that my 938 likes to run a bit "wet". I use Slide Glide on all my semi's and have not experienced problems. I would get some lube on the safety lever inside and out and work it a bunch, when you look at the lever with the safety in the off position you will see where you can get some oil into it. Mine comes off safe easier than it goes back on although my thumb can complete both motions.
