Yeah... I borrowed it from a feller who died on a cross but know he would approve of it's use in this case as he no doubt loves Glocks too.

he wouldn't want something that has to be "broke in" and then sent to the factory a few times.RocTrac wrote:No, he is with the Moses design.

Did I say that? Wow!The Annoyed Man wrote:Uuuhhh, just spitballin' here..... but isn't 1911, as in "Model of 1911," in the 20th century? Sorry... I couldn't help myself. Am I a bad man?
I don't even know what I meant now.

I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if it were d). Maybe that's why us poor civilians have to pay so much for one. Lot's of manufacturer's will give a low ball bid to win a big contract.G.A. Who knows.
With that said we are left with "B", so I guess the Kimbers were better than the Glocks...

Re: Glock Haters?
B? Really?? I'll agree that the 1911 design is mechanically ingenious and superior to the glock in terms of precision, but to say that it's better is hard to do. Glocks loose tolerances allow for reliable function in some pretty adverse conditions. If in combat I had to dive into a mud pit, I'd rather have a glock in my hand when I had to shoot the BG on the other side. I think most of us would.C-dub wrote:I don't know. True Kimber may have "low-balled" the bid (however that is very unlikely), I think the main reason is that Glock won't put manual thumb safeties on any of their guns IMHO. It isn't how they were designed. Besides they have contracts with military and law enforcement all over the world, not getting one contract isn't going to hurt 'em.
Either way Glock has proven that they aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and they have a design that simply just works. 1911's aren't going anywhere either. They are battle proven over the test of time, and are works of art in their form and function. I still don't see the point of all the debate. If you have nothing better to do but compare apples to oranges, go to the grocery store and bother the produce manager. A functioning gun is a good gun.
Before anyone shouts "Fanboy!" I have glocks and 1911's (my favorite being my Wilson Combat). I show the 1911's to my friends and the Glocks to my enemy's, as I've heard said so many times before. All of my compact and subcompact Glocks have grip reductions and beaver tails (the smaller Glocks don't fit my hand well). But Glocks are what I intend to carry most of the time.
Just my $.02
