As a foreign-born, I grow up watch Lucky Luke the cartoon, taking a break from the war-zone everyday life . That planted a seed in me to live in Texas one day, well 20 some years later, I'm a law abiding U.
S. citizen and live at the front row of watching the Universe, TEXAS!

When we married, our kids were trying to decide what to call us. Since our last name starts with a J and we have a Louisiana/Cajun heritage my stepdaughter came up with PaJ and MaJ. The J is more of a Shaa to sound French. The five kids rarely call us that but it will like stick for the grand kids which are hopefully many years away. With five teens in the house you worry about these things.

Ben English was my maternal grandmothers paramour.

He never amounted to much since he was a drunk. He was, however, a happy drunk who dearly loved my grandmother and made her feel that being on this earth was worthwhile. This is in stark contrast to her husband, my grandfather, who was an outrageously abusive raging alcoholic. My mother, for example, carried for her entire life the vivid memory of the time her father beat her up with a crowbar. She had to jump out a second-story window to escape and spent months in the hospital recovering from numerous broken bones and internal injuries. Back in those days, if you wanted to beat your kids nearly to death the law didn't pay much attention; she was 16 years old at the time.

Ben English, otoh, was simply a nice, loving human being even if he never accomplished much. Thank God that my grandmother could seek solace from him when things got especially bad at home.

When he died, we naturally buried him in the family plot.

I chose to use his name because when I first needed a name on usenet and a nom de plume for my magazine writing I was involved in some rather risque writing assignments that don't bear detailing in this family-oriented venue. The real Ben English, however, would have considered his name being used in such environments as a hearty joke. I also try to keep in mind that I've borrowed the name of a good man and that helps keep me from being too much of a jerk when I'm online simply out of respect for his memory.

New to Texas and Baytown. I am not truly a Cajun, as I was raised in metro Detroit, but I am of Cajun DNA/heritage.

murindo is Mongolian for "saddle up" You wouldn't know by looking at me but I have some Mongolian in my DNA which is likely the result of great raids the Mongols made on eastern Europe.

Mine is dedicated to 2 people, the Gunner part is from my uncle who was a door Gunner in WWII on a B-17 and the 4640 is from a very dear police officer friend. it was her badge number ie.. Gunner 4640

Ktulu is from the Metallica song Call of Ktulu. The 61 comes from the 1961 Gibson SG, a guitar I have always wanted! Thus, Ktulu61 is born!

I see people all of the time in public and they are like "Hey it's BMF" so I ran with it. My license plate on my car says BMF 45 and the wife's is 45 BMF.

Bravo Mike Foxtrot translates pretty easy if you are active military or veteran and any knowledge of the phonetic alphabet helps.
