Male. 30.
Profession: Security Consultant (Physical/network)
Engaged to be married
Taking My CHL NEXT saturday at Bullet Trap. Look forward to being able to carry again. I used to live in AZ, and carried there before moving away in 2000.
Moved to Texas in mid-sept after escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia.
Current Aresnal is XD9 subcompact and a borrowed ancient .38 special from my future in-laws.
I'd love to shoot in some structured way, as I am always looking for tips and tricks to shoot better.
Oh, and i'm a rare breed. I'm a member of a rare species. Liberalus shooticus a.k.a. an Armed Liberal. (there are some out there!)

Me-- 48. Retired Network/Telecom Geek
Her- - 41 RN (NICU/Nursery) PRN (so she's kinda retired as well)
Members of East TX Rifle and Pistol Range in Longview
We both get out to the range at least twice a week, usually during weekdays or evenings.
We're avid travelers. We enjoy getting out on our SeaDoo's at area lakes. We also travel a good bit during the summer to other States' lakes
We're both interested in IDPA events and plan to get more involved locally as well as at some of the other meets in the State.

I hope she will grade on the curve!
Although... she may not be able to grade a post on "content" just yet, she will certainly pick up on "run on sentences", "dangling participles", and such.
I'm in big trouble!
Welcome to the forum.

There are a number of shooters in the extended family, but so far I'm the only one who has a CHL. Our son is planning on applying for his sometime this year. You should have seen my Father-in-law's eyebrows when he found out his "non-shooting" (he thought) DIL carried! My Dad is pleased as punch, of course; the Makarov I qualified with was his birthday gift to me that year.
My carry gun varies - my "favorite" depends on my mood & what I'm doing. I can't carry in the office, unfortunately. And, IWB doesn't work too well with most skirts, anyway. (Although we do have a few regular customers who'll stop by my desk to mention their latest gun show find, etc... One customer - a CASer - told her husband "This is the only State office I've ever been to where I can discuss guns in the lobby without worrying about getting arrested!")
One of my co-workers has asked me to take her out to the range some weekend when it's a bit warmer. She's never handled a gun of any kind before.
I just joined here, after spending a while browsing the various forums. Anyone else from West Texas?

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Welcome, Quidni, Lolo!
If I may speak for those gentlemen who have not done so, We really need you ladies to provide input to this website. Mrs. Anygun carries, but isnt quite as wrapped up in the whole 24/7 thing as I am. She says "Why should I. You have at least two on and enough ammo to start a war".
Anyway, feel free to participate, and if your XY is not a member, nag him!

Annygun, Mine said the same thing right after she got her CHL & I ask where her hardware was. I asked her "What if I go down protecting you? Who is going to keep him from finishing the job & & making you a poor widow since I don't have life ins.?" Since then she is what I call 23-6. She can't carry at work. Welcome ladies. Be sure to use the ladies forum too, so we can direct our wives there too.
Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Hey y'all! I am a little late finding this forum, but now I'm here and ready to contribute. I am:
Age: Over 21 (way over)
Gender: Female
Profession/school status: Computer/Network Technician (AKA Professional Geek) Also CHL and NRA Basic Pistol Instructor
Marital status: Married, 3 kiddos in college. Hubby is a reloader so he keeps me in ammo and cleans my guns. Yeah, he's a keeper!
Years CHL: CHL since 1997, instructor since 2002
Carry guns/equipment: I like my Glocks, have several, but I'm not hardcore - I'll try almost anything once, also partial to my Ruger GP100. I carry in my CC purse, laptop case, toolbag, clipdraw attached to my model 19 - whatever is appropriate for the occasion.
