I regularly carry an FNX-45. Double stack, 15+1 capacity. Has a rail for attachments if that's your cup of tea. They are making the FNX-45 tactical which also makes a nice range/competition gun because it has space for an RMR milled out directly on the slide.

But you can't really conceal carry an FNX-45 (maybe in the winter if you're wearing heavy clothing like a coat) as its pretty bulky. When I carry the FNX-45 I usually do so openly.

Well, .45ACP are just big, and trying to get a bunch of them in a mag, especially double-stack, makes for big and heavy. I have a PX4 in .45, and my DS mags are only 10 rounds and they're still heavy, and the grip is fat, which I like, but makes for a big bulge. I put up with this because I prefer .45. You have to make a trade-off somewhere.

What oohrah said. I really like my new Glock 30 SF .45 ACP double-stack but it is noticeably heavier and somewhat larger than my Glock 26 which is a double-stack 9 mm. I can actually carry my new Glock conceal-carried in the front pocket of some larger khaki pants but that is just about at its limit. I will put up with it because of the increased fire-power.

Going the other way for my next purchase I will look at those Kahr CW9 single-stack 9 mm. handguns. They are fairly thin and easily concealable but fewer rounds. Hickok45 thinks the Kahr is a great pistol.

Buying these handguns is quite addictive. ;-)

I have an Alien Gear holster for my FNX-45. It is actually a very light weight gun especially for the size. It is just large. You want to make sure you are wearing a loose fitting shirt if you carry it. The grip is pretty large so it will want to print. 15+1 capacity of 45 ACP is nice though.

I currently switch between a CZ P07 and a Springfield XD Mod 2 45. The Mod 2 is a great gun. It is a little wider than the CZ or a G19. It has 9+1 capacity with the short mags and you have 13+1 with the full size magazines. It is still fairly compact with the full size mags. I like both guns and both guns will hit paper at 100 yards using the post sized targets. If you get the Mod 2, get the Pearce mag extensions for the compact magazines. They don't add capacity, but don't have a finger hanging off and makes it easier to shoot. http://www.pistolgear.com has a lot of XD accessories.

I have a Para P14.45, but I have never tried to conceal carry it. It is fairly heavy so I doubt I would do that.

I also have a Glock 21, but I don't normally try to carry it. I have holster for it so I should.
