Temporary Fortification at your residence is probably a good short-term policy.NTexas_V-Star wrote:As for myself....I'll take what I've got. And what I've got it a DPMS AR in .223 set up for close to mid range (pig hunting), and my carry pistol.
Can't forget about the home defense pieces, the Mossy and the XD.
The real question is....do you attempt to fortify your location, or flee to a safer place.
Surviving the initial rush will be the hardest part. People will panic, attempt to flee, roads will clog, and it will be complete anarchy. Best to bunker down for a bit until it quiets down.
You can get a nice 'Hurricane' shelter that will survive you through the initial onslaught, but eventually, you will have to move to a more fortified location for the long term. Especially if the government decides to try to cut it's losses, and nuke your area. You definitely want to not be there if/when that happens.
There's a HUGE Survival bunker in Conroe, originally built to house a family during nuclear war, it is now an underground datacenter. It has above-ground turret locations, only accessable from inside the bunker. I would probably attempt to make my way there, and set up base there. In the event of zombies, all area CHLForum members would be welcome to join me in this bunker. Bring Ammo.
