Has that Norinco MAK-90 been reliable?
Re: Suggestistions on AR-15s
I didn't think about that until another thread mentioned it. Right now I am thinking the GG&G flip up spring actuated sight up front and the Magpul MBUS in the back. I can say that I think i will be waiting until the summer as the MBUS2 which is slimmed down is coming out then. Same with the AFG, i noticed a sketch of the AFG2 that is supposed to swing down like a regular grip as well as lock in the traditional AFG position. For now, I'm just going to the MVG because it integrates so cleanly with the MOE stock and it made with the thumb break method in mind.RECIT wrote:Don't put an MBUIS on the gas block, for one its not the same height, for two its plastic and will melt over time. I also like the angled for grip magpul is offering right now. I think it is more comfortable than a vertical grip and keeps me tucked in better and my elbows down.
Thanks for the heads up on the ASAP plate! I think the ikickhippies is a much better design overall anyway. An no need to sell me the on the MBUS, just want to wait for the second version since it is so close anyway. I will have the Aimpoint mounted and ready to rock in a couple weeks max so the backups can wait.jeeperbryan wrote: As far as the ASAP, I'm not quite sure on it yet. Something to consider is the "jingle" that the ASAP has because of the metal ring. I'm contemplating switching to the ikickhippies end plate which is cheaper and would get rid of the noise. Instead of iron sights, you might try out the MBUS. I have the rear one and it's pretty tough. You'll probably never use the backup sights once you get the Aimpoint.

Here is a policeman's guide to AR-15's. it is very information. This cop has tested ALL AR-15's out there and reviewed ALL modern production AR15's. Check it out: http://forums.officer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81462

I've maybe put 2000 rounds through it since I got it back in the early 90's and I have never had one problem with it. It has been 100%. One of the best shooting rifles I've owned for what it is. It's been a great rifle.glbedd53 wrote:Has that Norinco MAK-90 been reliable?

You won't find a better deal as this one comes with M4 ramps, Chrome Lined, Double heatshield handguards, heavy buffer, A2 carry handle, and a Pmag all for $799.
+1 for Spike's Tactical. I just ordered a lower from them, and that rifle on their front page is very tempting...
