Hi John:
Thanks for joining and the kind words. I'm very new to bulletin board software and I hope the learning curve is steep! Feel free to make any suggestions. I suspect things will get moving when the 2005 Texas Legislative Session begins in January.

Regards,
Chas.

Charles, This looks like it could become a very popular board for the Texas shooters. Thanks for letting me join. Ken

Just joined, and recognize the name=)

Charles, I recently emailed you about IDPA matches at PSC.

You will probably get some visitors from a post over at the XD forum ( http://www.hs2000talk.com ) and I would suggest hitting up glock talk as well, although I do not post there.

Just one more place I have to visit each day....

Glad to have a Texas specific site.

Thanks for the effort, I'm looking forward to a great site for Texans.

I have to admit I'm overwhelmed at the response to this forum thus far. Thanks for all of the kind words and I really like "One-Eyed Fatmam's" comment about "our new site." That's exactly what it is. My plan is to keep a pretty low profile, in fact, my schedule may not allow anything else. I'm on the NRA Board of Directors and the TSRA Legislative Committee and both of those commitments are taking a good chunk of my time, especially with the 2005 Texas Legislative Session right around the corner. Throw in practicing law and it should be relatively easy to keep a low profile.

Thanks again for all of your support and I hope everyone finds the forum useful. Please do not hesitate to offer suggestions for additions or improvements. I'm very new at this stuff and I can use the help.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas

Regards,
Chas.

Chas -

' Glad to see this Texas-specific site - and to know your affiliation with TSRA. I've learned that instructors sometimes get more current info. from TSRA than we get from DPS ...

I'll pass the addy for this site to a few other instructors, students and friends - who can hopefully too help keep things civil without a lot of moderation.

Lots of Texans at http://www.glocktalk.com If you've not already done so, a post in "Carry Issues" would likely get some (gobs!) in here. Let me know if I need to start a "Heads-up Texans" thread over there. Regards.

THANKS - NEW FORUM ADDED

Greybeard:

Thanks for the "Carry Issues" suggestion. I've added that forum to the Day-To-Day Category.

Also, I don't want to mislead anyone on TSRA. I'm a Life Member, but I'm not on the Board of Directors. I'm an attorney in Houston and I've volunteered my time to TSRA for several years. I was formally appointed to the TSRA Legislative Committee in 2004.

Thanks,
Chas.

You gave me another idea, so I wanted you to get credit. I've also added an "Instructors' Corner" to the Instructors, Classes & Training Category.

Chas.

Thanks Chaz. I'm sure more "tweaking" desired along the way. I threw in my .02 for maybe "icebreakers" in each.

The Wife decided we needed a new bbq grill so that I could be the cook for X-mas dinner - steaks today for a change of pace.

Just sent e-mail about this site to a few dozen known CHLers. Time will tell how many join us. Have a good one.

Great site. Thanks for making it available. I belong to a couple of other sites (Glock Talk, The high Road) also under the same user name. It's great to have one dedicated to TEXAS.

Thanks again,

sensei
