Silencers in 90 days or less

Obtaining hearing protection at the muzzle of your firearm just got more convenient.
The nine-month to a year wait for ATF approval to legally possess a suppressor has been reduced in dramatic fashion—to 90 days, likely less—thanks to the Dec. 23 launch of a new electronically available Form 4. Some experts are confident the figure will be a few weeks as the anticipated digital rush clears.

I've been waiting 5 months for my stamp on a 9mm can.
They keep telling me not to withdraw the paper app and refile electronically, but I'm starting to feel like the fool here.

I did see on another forum a guy who E-filed in December got his two days ago. Was exactly three months. They claim by 2023 they should be down to 30 day approval

The ATF is saying if you withdraw and e-file you catch a 1 year delay. So up to you if you want to risk it.

If all goes well with an eForm 1, I got one under 30 days.

The only government forms I know are 1040 and 4473
Is the eForm 1 for building a solvent trap / suppressor
or
were you able to get your suppressor transferred from the dealer to yourself?

eForm 1 works for making your own SBR or silencer. Apparently the ATF has been rejecting some Form 1 silencer applications lately (for unclear reasons).

I'd love to have a supressor, but I just can't abide by the high prices. I think they're way, way overinflated. It's just a metal tube with some baffles. Sort of like a miniature muffler. Jeez - $600 - $2,000.... No way. When I can get one at Academy for $39.95, I'll be interested...

We're getting e-stamps back in the 65 to 75 day range. Paper is really rough, lot of 12+ month waits.

It all depends on what you are doing. If you are a firearms instructor or shoot in areas where the neighbors get bothered by the noise they are 100% worth it.
I do wish the HPA had gone through. That would dramatically lower costs.
