I live out in the country, down a gravel road, closest neighbor is abou 1/4 mile. Last night about 10:30 as I turned into the driveway (pasture) there were 4 wild hogs in the yard. One died, one wounded, two felt unwanted :)
A handgun was not the proper tool for this encounter, so I'm glad I had a rifle handy.

I think he should be on the road heading south to throw those things on the grill for tomorrow...
I got some dry rub that'll make you squeal like a pig...

This thing was big and nasty. Gut shot also :(
I drug him to the back of the pasture for the buzzards and skunks to nibble on.

The old slow one took several bullets, I wounded another.
Ya really would to have HAD to seen it for the best laugh ! Try to imagine, dark outside, manual trans PU, driving across almost smooth pastue, hanging out driver side window with full size AR-15, running pigs and hot brass flying around the inside of the truck. Out of 11 rounds fired, 8 of them went down the heater vents. Worst of all, my ears are still ringing 24 hours later.
:)
Gotta laugh !

I can picture it but I cannot imagine firing an AR from inside the cab without hearing protection.

Ouch.

We got problems with hogs here ourselves at the ranch. .223 seems a little light for hogs but I guess ya use what ya got handy. Hate to see an animal wounded though. I use a Garand or my guide gun in 45-70. Not many walk away from those. But any dead hog is a good hog if ya ask me.

No time for such details. This all happened in about one minute or less.

I have a buddy whose brother does pigs from a Kawasaki Mule with a mounted M60 (legally owned). Unless he feels sporting at which time he uses the M-16.
