Where to find a decent selection of holsters in DFW ???

Looking for a IWB holster for a G19 or Commander.

Most of the gun shops I've been to all have the same garbage Uncle Mikes or a wad of holsters for revolvers.

Not really into plastic holsters, much prefer decent/good leather.

If anyone happens to have a Milt Sparks, Rosen or equivalent for the guns above, please let me know if you might be interested in selling it.

In the meantime, while I'm waiting for the DPS to send my plastic, I'm on the hunt for a temporary holster.

I know several folks recommend a Brigade or a Kirkpatrick, and they do look nice, but the wait on both of those is at least two months and most likely more. Milt Sparks and Mitch Rosen are running 6-8 months.

Just looking for a stable, comfortable holster. J hooks would be nice, but at this point, I'm looking for a holster that will get me by until one of the above comes available. Ideally something that'll work for 4 o'clock carry, and not too bulky/uncomfortable when sitting.

I've been to Cabela's and Sportsman's Warehouse and Academy and a couple of typical gun shops.

Any suggestions where to look ?

TIA

If you don't mind ordering on-line, Ebay sometimes has a pretty good sel.ection and you can filter the results by gun type/model

The Bullet Trap in Plano has a wall of Galco holsters and if they don't have it Gunmasters down the street may.

SPS Guns at Beltline and Josey in Carrollton might be worth trying. Pretty good selection of Don Hume and Galco - and fair prices.

AKJ Concealco has what they call their ready line of holsters, which is available for the G19/23/32 as well as other models. They say they usually ship within 2 - 3 weeks, but it took closer to 5 weeks for mine. I love the holster, but some folks would rather see the holster in person before buying, and you can't do that over the internet.

Dallas Public Safety Supply.
this is the place that supplies the DPD, so there's a lot of other neat stuff in there, and the time I was there, there were plenty of Fuzz in and out, and I, personally, had a great time talkin' with the Heat, the Proprieteers, and the Homeless Guy that kept dropping in.

:iagree:

Best place in Ft. Worth area for holsters and other CHL/duty gear. They had a good selection of Don Hume products the last time I was there. Prices are comparable to internet prices in most cases.

I don't know where you heard Kirkpatrick Leather has a 2 month wait. I just ordered their Hidden Defence IWB holster and received it in 17 days. I've ordered from them a total of three times and always had my order delivered in that time frame. Great leather products, IMHO.

One more place to check for you Austin area folks. GT Distributors is considered an LEO shop, but they are open to us regular folks as well. They are having a sale in a few weeks, but I'll probably be there later today to get a new belt.
