Does anyone have experience with recent (2004 and later) Bulldogs? Reliability? Durability? Recoil?

I'm interested in this revolver for CCW and would probably shoot 500 range rounds / year.

Done lots of internet searches and know there are some older great Bulldogs and some older junk Bulldogs. Haven't seen much on recent versions except for Gunblast's review this year.

Charter Arms 2000 revolvers made after 2004 seem much better than older ones with their namesake.

I have a detective special which I find decently reliable.
Someone else I know has a bulldog pug which he likes a lot, as well.

The actions are a bit rough out of the box, but perfectly servicable.

I really can't speak for the Bulldog, but I recently traded for an older, used CA Undercover and was not impressed. The spring loaded lockup mechanism in the breach face that the cylinder locking pin mates with just does not stay put. Even when I adjusted the position, via the screw slot, it never seemed to work very smoothly. It also consistantly shot 2-3 inches left from sandbags at 7 yards. I traded it last week.
