For the AR-15 Folks
I know it hard to conceal an AR-15 but I wanted to share this. I found a company that has tons of AR-15 accessories on-line that happened to be located in Houston. I went there today and was shocked to see how much cool stuff they had. They also had some handguns, a killer selection of AR-15's, knives, clothing and ammo as well.
It is called SOG Armory, I went in to buy a spring that probably cost a buck or two and ended up spending $100.00. Nice place, nice employees, maybe a bit pricey, but I did see some good deals on ammo. They are located on the beltway near 59. I am going back next week to buy an "Infidel" T-shirt.

Re: For the AR-15 Folks
My AR has a full sized butt-stock and a 24" heavy fluted barrel, with a 3-12x50mm Burris XTR Tactical scope on it. It weighs exactly the same, without scope, as does my Remington 700 VSF in .308, with a 26" heavy fluted barrel. Sans a full length duster, an industrial strength pair of suspenders, and arch supports in my shoes, there's no concealing it.

Re: For the AR-15 Folks
I've been there a couple of times in the past year and its an OK store. There were some deals to be had. The thing I remember most were the Strider knives, Maxpedition gear and the hardshell storm cases. I think they frequent our area gun shows as well. Nice place to check stuff out in person and then buy somewhere online where you can save a little bit of money.

I always buy "something" from them when they come to the Dallas gun show. Next time I'm down that way I'll have to stop in and check out their store front.

Wow, the price!
Please help the wounded store owner who fought off 3 robbers. He doesn't have medical insurance.

Re: For the AR-15 Folks
I agree they do seem pricey. It is nice to be able to go in and purchase a spring and detent when you break one like I did and not have to wait for something in the mail. They do carry a lot of individual parts.

Re: For the AR-15 Folks
I wish I could just go in somewhere and buy parts here and there! I have to order EVERYTHING! No store has anything in Odessa, Midland or Lubbock. I live in Odessa, and frequent visit the other 2 places. Hey Annoyed, how do you like your 24" barrel? I'm going to replace the barrel on one of mine, both currently 16", but I'm not sure if I want to go with a 20" or 24". Is yours the .750 heavy profile or larger? I've been trying to determine whether or not to deal with the added weight of a larger bull barrel. If you're getting good accuracy from your heavy profile, then I probably won't go to the larger .920 or 1". Just curious. How many other AR people, guys or girls (edited for phddan's wife ) do we have in here?

I drive by it on the way home everyday...Its on the eastbound feeder road to the Sam Houston "Tollway" (i.e.: Beltway 8) just east of 59...nedmoore wrote:I know it hard to conceal an AR-15 but I wanted to share this. I was tempted today, but I had a few things to do this evening...I could probably spend a few hours in there...And spend a few "things" as well...
