I have run across several sources for printable targets on the internet but none seem to have a full sized silhouette target like we used for our CHL proficiency test.

I am lucky enough to have a wide carriage printer at work (prints 24" wide) and could just print a few up to go to the range with if I could find a PDF source.

Anyone know of one out there?

I just buy mine at the Bigtown Gun Shows....I bought a huge role of the silhouette and just now barely getting down to the last ten or so...but enough for me and my wife....They came as individual targets rolled up- very good pricing because the guy selling owned a printing shop and he was a CHL as well, e tc.....

Geez, sorry. I finally figured out that you were looking for full size and not just pdf format. Sorry to get yer hopes up so fast!

I have only looked at the free 8.5"x11" sized ones.

Just a "you probably already know this" tip: If you have Adobe Photoshop, you can open an unprotected PDF and Photoshop will ask you to specify the size and dpi in order to rasterize the image. So if you want a 24"-wide image for your plotter, you can open any of the target PDFs (see page 7 of the ones at http://www.targetz.com, for example), specify 300dpi and 7,200 pixels wide, and voila!, a 24-inch-wide, 300dpi version of the PDF page. Actually, 150dpi would be perfectly acceptable, and that would be 3,600 pixels wide for a 24-inch plotter roll, 5,400 pixels wide if you want to print full-size on a 36" plotter.

Good advice, but I'll add that we're talking about silhouettes seen at 7-15 yards, so 72dpi is sufficient.

Wide printers and big images burn up a ton of consumables; no need to use more than absolutely necessary. If a lo-rez pass isn't sharp enough, $0.0000001 worth of Sharpie ink traced around the outline would do more good than hi-rez printing.
