Keller man accidentally shoots himself

Who wants to bet that he was trying to show the friend that the gun would not fire by taking it out battery by pressing it against his head. Sad story. I think pretty much breaks all 5 rules.

KELLER — A 42-year-old man died late Friday after accidentally shooting himself in the head, police said.

Lee Anderson thought he had emptied the bullet chamber of the gun when he was handling it in front of another person in his home in the 900 block of Glenmont Road at about 11:45 p.m.. But he apparently had accidentally left one bullet in the gun and fired the deadly shot, Lt. Brenda Slovak said.

It’s unclear why Anderson pointed the gun to his head and what he was doing with the gun, but police say the only other witness at the scene told them the shooting was unintentional.

Police are still investigating the accident, but at this point do not suspect foul play, Slovak said.

That's just a few miles from me. Pretty wierd. And especially tragic for friends and family.

The "11:45 p.m." part makes me suspicious of what the man might have been doing previously ...

Uh-oh. I didn't know there were five.

1. All guns are loaded.
2. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Know your target and what's beyond it.

What's 5?

I agree about the time of night. This kind of stuff often happens long after dark.

It pretty much covers the rest.

#5, never point a gun at your head and pull the trigger.

Even the thought of pointing a gun at my head or somebody elses head i just "unloaded "and pulling the trigger makes me think that's pretty stupid.unless they were reenacting deer hunter and playing russian roulette, which deceased guy thinking gun is unloaded slaps cylinder shut and goes boom, and friend goes
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them
