I don't have any experience with the sub-compact, but I have owned two XD's (still have one) and they are hard to beat in my opinion. Once you get it broken in properly and the trigger smooths out you'll never want to shoot a DA/SA trigger again.

nice. that is what i like to hear. My buddy out here at the base owns the 4" .45...and loves it and gives me a hard time for my Glock 30...but whatever. I am excited about it though.

Both my spousal unit and I have XD 40SC's. Took them to the ranch and practiced on some stumps.....center mass hits weren't a problem out to 70 yds. In comparision, we both had our full sized XD's (mine XD45C, hers XD40 service). Couldn't tell that much difference. Target aquiring might be a little faster for the little guns......accuracy better for the four inchers.....still hard to tell. The muzzle kick up was very controllable. It felt different than the service gun, but not unpleasant in any way. Both of us have small hands and are very satisfied with thegrips on them.........my pinky does hang off a little.

Good choice, I think you'll be happy with it.

I have the XD9SC and when I hold it, it feals like it is part of my body. Good balance, good weight. I bought it when it first came out and have never had a FTE ot FTF.

I am moving up to the .45 compact. I carry a Springfield Micro Compact, but want a .45 that I can carry in the Texas heat. Spingfield needs to release a SC in the .45 line.

I always carried 9mm until I shot a .45. I think shooting a projectile the size of my thumb is better than one the size of my pinky.
