Millennium Pro Question

Have read some horrible reviews on the Taurus Millennium Pro. Most say the problems were with the 1st & 2nd manufactured generation. How do I determine which weapon are of the 3rd. manufactured generation?

Any reply’s will be greatly appreciated.

Read all about it here:

My 2nd Gen 9mm Mil Pro is a dependable shooter, no feed/ejection problems after 20-round break in. Avoid 1st Gens. 2nd Gen is DAO, pretty good trigger broken in. 3rd Gen has enviable DA/SA trigger, but I like my DAO. Good accuracy up to 21 feet. Great belly gun, hides well. But spring for an M&P, Glock or other. You''ll be glad you did in the long run. Absolutely no resale or trade in value. Poor importer support. Not rated for the powerhouse rounds.

Just get the 24/7 anyways. 2000+ rounds and no problems.

I love my Millenium Pro. Carry it evry day and shoot it at least every other week. I have never had a problem with it. the 3rd gens can be identified by their DA/SA trigger and visually they say Millenium on the left side and Pro on the foward right side of the slide

I have a 2nd gen. PT111 9mm. DAO and a 3rd gen. PT145 .45acp SA/DA. Both flawless after 1500 rounds each. Carry the PT145 daily. These Millennium series guns are great in my opinion. :thumbs2:

Adding my :thumbs2: to the previous 2 comments. I carry my PT140 Millennium Pro nearly every day. After 1000+ rounds I've never had a single problem. I also like the SA/DA trigger. I will say, though, that you will want to make sure to hold one and fire it, if you can, before buying, just to make sure that the grip and your hand are a good fit (it was for me).

I carry a pt145 and have 600 to 700 rnds through it. I have never had an issue with it...not one. I read the same horror stories that you read prior to puchasing. I believe all the stories had to do with the 1st and 2nd generation. I did find a web site (I will try to find it again) at some point during my research that had an explination of the serial numbers...and based on the serial number one could determine the year and month for which that particular firearm was manufactured. For example...the first 3 characters of mine is NZL****. Mine was manufactured in January of 2007...I puchased it in March of 2007. After puchasing, i called Taurus and confirmed the manufacturing date on it.

2nd Generation, has on the one side, Millinneum Pro and on the other side PT145.

3rd Generation has Millinneum on one side, and Pro PT145 on the other.

I just recently bought the PT111 Millennium Pro 9mm and love it. I have put about 1500 or so rounds through it, and it has been flawless. The recoil on the PT111 is really light, it is very easy to get right back on target. My daily carry has been my S&W M&P 9c, now I switch up between the two guns, and trust them both equally.
