ClipDraw Question

#1

Post by shooter75056 »

I have carried a Glock 36 since I got my CHL. Just this past weekend I purchased a Crimson Trace (LG-436) sight system for it and have a couple of questions and would love some opions / feed back.

Has anyone ever used the CLIPDRAW product and if so how do you like it?

Is anyone aware of a holster that might fit the combination of the 36 and Crimson Trace? Or does anyone KNOW of a holster manufacturer / maker that could make a custom holster to fit this combination?

Thanks if advice for sharing your experiences / knowledge.

And MODS if this is the wrong category, feel free to move the post, just please let me know where you move it to.

I have used the ClipDraw on a small Kel-Tec3AT. I have seen one used on several other guns from Baby Glocks to full size 1911s.

My oppinion & YMMV.
on the 3AT is was OK. I still prefer my back pocket holster for it.

On all others that I have seen it was not very stable. Rocked & sagged from a little to a lot depending on the gun & size. Some tried them & did not stick w/ them due to the above.
Others stayed w/ them saying it did not matter to them.
If you like them - Good. On a sub-compact they seem to be OK. On the mid to full size frames Not so good.
My experience. YMMV

On the holster combo that you have, I dont know of one that make a holster for it but I am sure someone does. Check the list of makers in the sticky under holsters & accessories.
Good shopping.

The saggin and rocking of the gun was my main concern with the ClipDraw. The LG-436 has only been out a week from Crimson Trace so I am hoping some of the holster companies start making product soon. However the Glock 36 is not one of the most popular Glocks so it may take awhile.

I have an inquiry in with a 'semi" local holster maker (Bullard) to see if it is possible for him to make a custom holster.

Again, thanks for the feedback.

You need to go over to this thread, and either make your own or talk one of these guys into doing it for you...Some good looking holsters over there...

Bullard can make you one.
That is some good lookin leather on the site above too.
Since there are no blanks available whoever you choose will need your gun for the pattern.

I've carried a glock 36 for three years using the clip draw and find it to be very comfortable. Only draw back that I found was an uncovered trigger and i solved that with a saf-t-block. Both my neighbors carry with clipdraw as well and they seem to like it as well. Definitely not for everybody....but works well for me. If you want a nice holster and aren't to terribly concerned about having it anytime soon look at http://www.brigadegunleather.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I bought a holster for my sig 239sas from there and it's a top quality holster. They have excellent custom made belts as well. They are all made to order so I'm sure he can meet whatever specs you have.....but the old adage of patience is a virtue certainly will apply here.
