Hello all,
I am new to this board as I just found it a few weeks ago. I have really enjoyed my time looking through threads and all. My question is this. I live in Lubbock and I am trying to locate a shooting instructor for my wife and I. I have been shooting my whole life but I feel like I am not as good with a pistol as I could be since most of what I have learned about handgun shooting was by trial and error. As for my wife I took her shooting two weeks ago for the first time and she loved it but I don't feel qualified to provide her with the solid grounding that she should have. I would like to find someone locally to begin with then we will progress to tactical training.
Sorry to be so longwinded and thanks in advance.
Dusty

Re: New guy with a question.
Dusty,
Sorry I cant help you with an instructor in your area, as I am near Houston and dont get up that way much. Im sure someone from your area will chime in soon though. You are on the right path though, as far as seeking instruction. I encourage you to find someone who is proficient and can help you. Do you have a range in your area? If you do, perhaps you could ask around there. If you provide the ammunition, you shouldnt have a problem finding someone to help you out with the basics. Another good source of information would be a gun dealer in your area. I dont mean the local Walmart. find a good gun store and ask around, as most of them will know of someone who can help. Do you have your CHL yet? Wether you do or not, I am thinking you can find an instructor in your area who could possibly give you and your wife some one on one instruction. Its refreshing to hear someone that is concerned enough about their ability to admit that they may need some help. In that aspect, I admire your willingness to learn. Good luck, and welcome to the forum.
