Anyone going to the Gun buy back program tommorow. They are giving $50 grocery cards for each gun turned in.

Wouldnt this be a good place to go get some cheap guns before they are turned in? City's paying $50 per and i'd pay $60 per.

That's the only good thing about Jennings, Lorcin, etc. and other clunkers.

Of course, the most satisfying deal is one where they give you cash and you can write them a letter telling them about the new gun(s) you bought with the proceeds.

They will be checking the for stolen guns.

They did this just recently in another state and had 3700+ handguns and rifles turned-in in about 4 hours.
Out of the 3700+ items only 17 came back stolen.

There were all functioning weapons and a few handgrenades.

There were more than 1100+ AR-15 / AK types, some valued at thousands a piece.

Your gun for groceries.

That's the goal of a gun buyback from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Reunion Arena. Each unloaded, operational firearm surrendered will fetch a $50 Kroger grocery gift card.

People trading in their guns must present identification, city officials say.

"It would be a failure on our part if we do not take an initiative," said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, who is helping lead the effort.

Dallas is not using public money to purchase the gift cards. Kroger is providing them at a 30 percent discount to several event sponsors, Dallas spokesman Frank Librio said.

Meanwhile, Dallas writer and gun rights advocate Trey Garrison says he may conduct an alternative gun buyback of his own – with better prices for sellers. He says he'll pay in cash, too.

How much might Garrison spend?

"Depends on what the hardware is," he said Wednesday.

I'll go $65.00.

How can they buy back something they never owned in the first place?

Too bad I'm not around Dallas.
I've got several old guns that are worth far less than $50/each, though still functional, that I could cash in on there.
(And use the money for ammo for the guns I'm keeping.)

Every time I see something like this, I wonder what there definition of a gun is. For example, if I were to carve a gun out of some of the firewood that Ike made out of my oak tree out back, could I trade it in?

I am guessing they wouldn't allow any of us to stand outside and offer more than they are for it huh? I'd like to pick up an AR or AK, maybe 2 or 3 for a couple hundred dollars.

They are giving $50 gift cards. I'd start out offering $50 cash, and maybe a little more for better guns.

Yep, the new, shiney HIGH CAPACITY SEMI-AUTO pistol that you've been lusting after for so long but just didn't seem to be able to scrape up the last $50.
