Give Sporting Arms in Lewisville a call they list it for $333.00 great people to do business with!
Then you can drive around the corner and show it off to me (they are way to close for my wallet)

Re: Anyone have this shotgun?
I'll give them a call but I doubt they have this model for that price. There are a few things on this gun that are not shown on Bud's list like tritium inserts in the ghost ring rear sight and an XS big dot tritium front sight as well.Cosmo 9 wrote:Give Sporting Arms in Lewisville a call they list it for $333.00 great people to do business with!

Re: Anyone have this shotgun?
My son has the identical shotgun. Shoots well right out of the box (after cleaning) with three boxes expended and no issues. Ghost sights are a little strange when shooting clays but he managed to bust 13/13 with it before I quit throwing birds. He was using my shells so he didn't care how long it took to miss one.
One word of caution, when shooting clays, be sure to buy a decent choke. He was going to remove the breaching tube and shoot it with no choke at all until I suggested he spend $12 and get an improved cylinder or modified choke for the gun.
Did I mention he was shooting my shells?

Re: Anyone have this shotgun?
I am not sure of the necessity of ghost ring sights, for home defense I think the bead sights will suffice. I paid $199 for my 870 a few years ago, I added some grip tape and nothing else. If it comes down to it and I'm ready to defend I doubt if ghost ring sights or the neat poker dohickey on the barrel are going to matter.

got me a Maverick 88 from academy for well under 200.00 .
its the home defender model with the 18 and 1/2 inch barrel .
it goes bang every time .
i did however switch the stock with a pistol grip just to make it more maneuverable inside the house .
....and it looks a little meaner that way .

I have the 870 tactical version, very nice.

Re: Anyone have this shotgun?
BTW, I have shot many rounds through a Benelli M1Super 90 with ghost ring sights and liked it, but I still say cheap and simple will do the trick for most people.mrvmax wrote:I am not sure of the necessity of ghost ring sights, for home defense I think the bead sights will suffice. Re: Anyone have this shotgun?
Well the definition of "cheap" is different for every person and I don't see what's not simple about this gun. I think $450 is pretty cheap for a reliable defense weapon, some may not.mrvmax wrote:BTW, I have shot many rounds through a Benelli M1Super 90 with ghost ring sights and liked it, but I still say cheap and simple will do the trick for most people.mrvmax wrote:I am not sure of the necessity of ghost ring sights, for home defense I think the bead sights will suffice. Re: Anyone have this shotgun?
The M1 super90 in entry model is a great shotgun, what is the going price now? The pumps for 199 are no slouch. Mossberg 500A 12ga. is a good one too. That 870 Tactical looks right on.
