Bersa Thunder 380 CC Slide issue

I everyone.
Well I have an issue with this Bersa.
Before I take it back from whence it came to get looked over I thought I would ask for advice in here.
I have dismantled the gun for cleaning several times in the last few weeks and have always got the thing reassembled without any problems but yesterday I dismantled the gun and the sucker won't re-assemble. The slide refuses to catch onto the slide rails. There doesn't appear to be any foriegn bodies in the way and the gun is clean. Nothing seems 'bent' or loose.
I am at a total loss, but I will keep on trying to re-assemble the gun before I take it back to the gun shop tomorrow.
Any advice? Anything I need to check for that I may be missing?

I hope it helps.

Thank you, but still no joy.
The clock is ticking on this particular gun. I can't be fussed with a gun that can't be field stripped and reassembled quickly and easily.
Good job it is just a BUG, but now I guess I need to consider what to replace it with.
Watch this space....there may be some 380 ammo oming onto the market

The recoil spring has two tricks to it when re-installing it around the barrel.
1. The small diameter end goes on first.
2. The bitter end of the spring should be in the 12 o'clock position, i.e. Towards the top of the slide.
Hope this helps. I was frustrated the first few times, too, but I'm glad I hung in there. My Bersa T380 CC is part of my carry rotation when larger pistols won't fit the situation.

Here is the page from the bersa chapter house site on the recoil spring

If that spring isnt on right, you wont be able to reassemble.

Thank you for all the assistance.
I am taking it to the shop (hopefully today). I don't think it is the spring causing the issue as the barrel goes through the muzzle port without any problems.
I will let you know the outcome of the trip to the gunsmith.

Well I took the Bersa to the gunsmith and was somewhat vindicated when they couldn't initially get the slide back on either!
It turns out that the trigger drawbar was sticking out of true a little preventing the slide from engaging with the rails.
It just hand pushed back into place and all was well again.
Thank you all for your help and hopefully this will give others something else to check if their Bersa has the same issue.

well , look at it like this , your one step closer to being a Bersa expert .
i wonder what caused that . it will be interesting to see if it happens again .
i have been following this thread to see what the outcome would be .
from my experience with that gun , i just couldn't figure out why you were having that problem.
the Bersa is really a great little gun , especially for the money.
back when i purchased mine , they only cost 199 bucks brand new .

To be perfectly honest with you the gun has been a little 'sticky' for a long time but I was blaming the ammo for some of it (and the newness)
I think the reliability may come in time but this has had almost 300 rounds through it and I still get FTFs from time to time. Today I had half a dozen or so in 80 rounds.
It really isn't a good target pistol because of the low profile sights, nor is it a 'distance' pistol but it is so easy to conceal that I use it all the time but my primary carry is the G30 SF.
Time will tell how much the gun runs smoother after a few more 100 rounds.

I'm glad that they fixed the slide issue how did the armor it's do it? did the push it in or down. I'm having the same issues w/ the slide. I can't reassemble it.

Looking back at how the issue was resolved it appears that it was a fairly easy fix by realigning the trigger draw bar by hand. Hope this helps and welcome aboard.

Thank you Jusme. Yes I'm new to the forum and did realize that he posted way back. I was taking a shot in the dark to see if someone would chime in and help me w/ the slide issue. Thanks again for your help and will try to fix it by hand.

On my Bersa .380 cc I have not had that problem. I did purchase an extra magazine at a store that turned out to be no good. The original is good, works great. Having learned my lesson, I am going to purchase one from the Bersa website.
I have never had a jam or other problems. The little "dirty Argentine" does the job well each time. Etta perfectemento!
I hope your loose part does not occur again.
Have you had a problem with the lock on your Bersa? I have not but was reading where a S and W 642 had a problem with the lock engaging. I am wanting to purchase one of them, but am going to get the one without the lock. I was on their site a few minutes ago and it looks like one can buy one with or without the lock.
