If you haven't seen the new Taurus Judge promo video, it's a hoot:

Click on the "Melon Head" video, far right side of the middle of the page.

Regarding "The Judge", I have several thoughts:
- Bad idea, great marketing. They're selling tons of them, though.
- That marketing could bite them in the butt. The name alone invites a plaintiff's attorney to ask if they intended to be jury and executioner too.
- Watching the video drives home the point that shooting one, especially with 3" shells, is going to be extremely unpleasant. Few will practice with one. Many will be unprepared and shocked if they have to fire one in self defense.
- Bad idea. Seriously, I can't stress enough how the .410 is a marginal defensive round

If I didn't have a .357 magnum that I could load rat shot into I would want one. The only purpose I see in the pistol is it would make a pretty good ranch pistol. It can shoot snakes and other small vermin with .410 or a full size (smaller) animal with the .410 buckshot or a .45 Long Colt. I think it would get confusing though for me because I would want to have one cylinder loaded with a different kind of round.

Look at the Box O' Truths website for the test of this pistol, not very impressive to me.http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot41.htm

The thing that I have trouble reconciling with the BoxofTruths results is that the .36 revolver was extremely effective in the past. Hickock did ok with his.

So why would a load that shoots 4 or 5 .36 caliber balls at a similar velocity be so woefully underpowered?

Add to that photos I saw on the Taurus Armed forum of the Federal .410 Judge load where 3 or 4 of the copper plated buckshot and their sabot would hit the head at 20', and I don't discount the effectiveness of the load.

I'm still convinced that the Box of Truth is run by my Civil War Teacher from Highschool.

Judge is a neat gun for killing snakes, but for concealed carry? Too Big, better ammo for smaller better guns
