About the Rossi Judge thingy, my question is, "Why?" Can't you just buy a .410 shotgun? Do people really want a .45 Colt/410 hybrid in a rifle with a revolver cylinder in place of a magazine? It looks like a goofy photo shop; and I bet it's horrific to clean. I thought the whole point of the Judge was to have effective scatter-shot in a handgun format for personal and home protection.

Seriously help me-To me a 12 and a 20 gauge is for shooting clay pigeons, birds, and burglars, and a .410 is for killing snakes and burglars at a short distance. I really don't know what a Colt .45 is for, except a big round for a revolver for personal and home defense. Are there hunting applications/needs for the Colt .45/.410 Hybrid long gun?

If you have the money...Why not?

I think it looks pretty neat.

I think it looks pretty neat as well.

Does anyone know what the MSRP is going to be on it?

Why? huh? because I can and because I like it. It doesn't have to be practical nor justifiable, it just has to appeal my senses. I bet the thing becomes a runaway success.
Its like pickup trucks. I "need" one of every make and model

Regards,

It's probably just as easy to clean as, oh, say, a revolver? (just on a larger scale) Judge on 'roids. Looks cool. My motto is if you want it, can afford it, and it doesn't take food out of you/your families mouth, BUY IT.

The "revolving rifle" is not a new concept. Colt invented it back in the 1850's:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_revolving_rifle" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think it's rather novel for Rossi to bring back the concept. Personally I think it's pretty neat looking. It's a novelty item and will be great for cowboy shooting. Beyond that, I don't see the usefulness of it. But that's only my opinion. ;-)

The usual reason any company introduces a new product. To sell and make money.

Guys,

Hey-I'm all for buying something 'cause you want it. I believe that the Taurus Judge took off (like crazy) because it was a shotgun that fit in one hand and it would be just as popular without the .45 Colt capability (almost); the exploding watermelon ad certainly got my tail wagging. The problem with the Circuit Judge is that reasonably priced shotguns are readily available in brand names that are more enticing than Rossi; the Taurus Judge, as far as I know, has NO competition (surprisingly).

I'm sure it'll sell initially to those who want a gun that doesn't look like the rest of their collection, and they'll get some initial rounds through them; and that is certainly fine. I'm gonna' make a bold prediction: It won't find a niche and will be discontinued in less than 3 years; and I will give every poster to this thread a .22 Federal round if I'm wrong. I could be wrong-I was wrong about the TV show "Caveman", which I still think was a brilliant show.

I guess I consider revolvers a hassle to clean because my only revolver (Taurus model 94) has 9 itty bitty chambers in the cylinder to scrub, so I guess 5 wouldn't be so bad.

:iagree:

And let's not forget the most important reason for buying a new gun....

***BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ONE OF THOSE YET***

Even Mrs. Buntster sees the logic in that (either that, or she's given up the argument!):

I thought your lady got a very pretty and very nice STI Rogue recently? At least I thought it was for her!
