I find OWB more comfortable. I am much more concerned about exposing my side arm though.

I may just need a better quality IWB holster. I'm trying to work up the courage to spend the $125 on a CTAC.

IWB with a quality holster and taking my time to search for the "perfect position" of my weapon has worked well for me. My gut sticks out far enough without a holster attached to the side of it OWB! Take care.

For me,an IWB just wasnt ever comfortable..I use a Yaqi OWB for all my 1911's and have been quite happy with it

I seem to have difficulty concealing an ink pen, let alone my weapon. I definitely go IWB. Sometimes, I have to use a pager pal.
I had an experience in Academy where the guy started to think I was shoplifting. During the course of the conversation, he eventually figured out the bulge and told me I wasn't concealed very well.

Ladies tend to have a lot more problems concealing, mostly because concealment garb is mostly made for men.

Also, you might want to play with OWB. A forum member from here (I think it was Quidini) actually found she can conceal cross-draw OWB easier.

I recently purchased a tuckable IWB holster from High Noon Hoslters. It conceals well and is very comfortable.

I prefer a IWB for going to town and I use a High noon Closing argument for that. i use my Kydex paddle holster for when I just run into the Feed store and places that I don't have to have a Shirt tucked in.

I also carry 2 spare mags in a IWB type rig that I modified for that .

Keep your eyes open on EBAY, there are always 4-5 left handed holsters advertised under "Galco". Finding one for your XD might take some careful watching. Most are for 1911's and Sigs.

A CTAC shouldn't cost $125

I got mine for around $80 new after shipping.

I carry a Glock 22 (sometimes a 23) IWB when I know I'm gonna be reaching, bending, lifting, etc. My IWB holsters are a CTAC and a Pro Undercover (both made by CompTac).

I carry at ~3:30 either way.

Since I got the Pro Undercover, the CTAC is reserved strictly for tuckable duty.

The rest of the time I carry OWB in a Tucker HF1. The Tucker actually conceals better than the IWB rigs, unless I'm engaged in the above mentioned activities.

A quality gunbelt is essential.

The biggest problem with concealing IWB, for me, happens when I sit down.

With OWB, the pistol stays tight against me.

With IWB, my pants tend to pry against my belt and pull the grip away from me a bit. I have to pay too much attention to what my cover garment is doing behind my hip to be sure the grip isn't printing through when I'm sitting where I can be seen from behind.

I use mainly IWB, at about 4 o'clock (right hip). So far, I've just got a Galco tuckable, but that works pretty well for me.

To distract from the bulge and disguise the J-clip, I carry my cell phone and a Mag-Lite Mini directly overtop of the holster. So far, no one has spotted it yet (no one not already familiar with CCW, that is - fellow CHLers can and have spotted it).

The Galco's working well enough that I may go for a High Noon holster here in the not-too-distant future. I'm not sure I trust the J-clip on the Galco to not break.

IWB is very uncomfortable for me.I use either an don hume model 721 open top(owb) or a shoulder holster type elastic band.This is the one I use 90% of the time,very comfortable and easy to get to. sj

I've got all IWB rigs and two good belts. My latest, a Milt Sparks VMII is a dream. Most comfortable holster I've bought to date and it plasters my Kahr CW9 to my side. It's IWB, but a high ride and I highly recommend them.

IWB - Summer concealment and easier to conceal - comfy with the right holster
OWB - Winter concealment, carry at the range - more comfortable
Drop leg - Hunting
