Happy Birthday To Me!

I just thought I'd show off my new gifts. :anamatedbanana
As I posted already in the Waiting Room- I originally got an XDsc as a birthday present for my concealed carry. My wife, however, discovered that it didn't have a thumb safety and vetoed that gun soon after I got it. She then suggested that I get the PX4sc instead since it had a safety. So now I got to add two more guns to my collection... and I even had her permission this time. :) I even got to order a supertuck holster. What a great birthday!

I still like the XD better though so, once she forgets about the whole deal, I'll probably start carrying it again.

Well whatever excuse you need to buy another gun... :anamatedbanana

The grip safety wasn't enough?

What caliber XD is that? How do you like it? I am leaning towards an XD now for my carry gun. I need to go give one for a spin.

The grip safety wasn't enough?
Believe me I was prepared to argue that all the way to the couch... until she suggested I get the PX4. Then I just nodded obediently and said "OK honey.. if that will make you more comfortable"

I love the XDsc. Mine is 9mm. It just feels good to hold. Not toooo small but conceals nicely. I have been wearing it every day at my work while I patiently wait for my plastic to get here. I have been building up a little muscle memory by drawing & holstering every time I go to the bathroom. I'm getting pretty good at making sure I dont touch the grip safety while holstering or drawing.

The PX4sc is a very nice gun too though.

It's hard to argue when your wife insists on you buying another gun. Good move. :thumbs2:

The only thing I use the thumb safety for is decocking. Other than that, It's never on. So, if one has a hammer style DA/SA semi-auto pistol, the thumb safety for decocking is a must.

Other than that, why bother?

Congrats on the present!!
