Guys,

Forgive me if this has been discussed into the dirt, but if revolvers almost never have safeties, why do people get hung up about having to have one on their auto? I'm not a fan of gun safeties, but I do like my de-cocker. I visually scan 3 things before I holster every time: 1. Safety off 2. Round chambered 3. Hammer down.

Because Samual Colt never put a safety on a wheel gun so it obviously don't need one.

But John Moses Browning put a safety on the first, best, and only worthwhile semi-auto ever made, so if the M1911 has a safety then by God ALL semi-auto pistols need a safety.

Revolvers need to be cocked (single action) or have a long deliberate pull to cock and fire them (single action) making a manual safety unnecessary. Most semi-auto pistols were single action (1911, BHP, Luger, and others.) There was a relatively light trigger pull required to fire them so a manual safety was required. Today's modern designs that are DA/SA, DAO, Safe Action, etc. don't really require a safety lock but, old perceptions and habits die hard.

I carry an M&P fully loaded without a manual safety, I own an XD that I have carried extensively with no manual safety, and when I carry my S&W 3913 it is carried decocked with the safety off. My 1911s and my HiPower are always carried in condition 1 (loaded, cocked and locked)

Hey all ... I like all the locks, safeties, buttons, bars, latches, bells, whistles, what ever .. they are fun to play with, which makes the hand gun interesting. BUT for me, doing the CH thing... I prefer the DAO !

I kinda am not expecting many repeat sales though due to the "cooling off period electronic timer" which disables the weapon for an hour after taking the safety off..

If anyone with the wrong retina tries to use it, a concrete truck backs up and fills the barrel with instant hardening concrete .... how safe is that ?????????
