Help finding a Rock Island Armory 1911 in Houston

#1

Post by cubbyjg »

I have recently got the itch to purchase a 1911 to see why they are so popular. I have been doing some research and found a lot of good reviews about the 1911s made by Rock Island Armory. Does anyone know of a gun shop in the Houston area that has these in stock so i can put my hands around one?

Call Gordon at Black Gold Guns and Ammo...(713) 694-GUNS
He usually has one or two in stock. He will order a specific version for you if he doesn't currently have it.

Also Tomball Pawn might have one..(281) 351-2662

You can also order one from budsgunshop.com

Shipping is included in the price and you don't pay tax. Just pay your FFL for the transfer, typically about $25.00.

You can also wait a week or two and visit one of the gun shows that show up twice a month. You'll always find RIA's there.

Yes, i have bought several firearms from buds. I just want to hold one before making the purchase. Plus, its always good to support local businesses. I will research to find out when the next gun show is.

The next gun show is 11/13 at GRB. You will get the best price on one there. I bought mine there for $450 (5" two tone tactical model). The best price I found online for it was almost $500, before any associated fees. They had the standard black models for under $400.

Huh... when I went I had no issue with the dog. I had more issue realizing that the side door was the right door - walking around the place looking like an idiot.

Edit: I got my RIA 5" Tactical from him. Had to order it but it came in within 3 days. Fast service, friendly service, excellent service. I recommended my friend there yesterday who went and got a Glock 30 and had the same opinion. I'll go back there again for my next new gun purchase.

If they don't collect sales tax, you're required to remit it directly to the Texas Comptroller's office.
