I carry IWB at about 4:00 without any problems.

If you carry IWB stay away from the metal clips used on IWB holsters. I have chewed up several shirts and the seat of my work truck. I switched to the J clips and the problem stopped. I carry about 4:00 but use a cross breed that has a wide spread on it placing the rear clip rather far back

I've been carrying for over 8 years now, 5 in my current vehicle, and I have not noticed any effects to my leather seat. I always have a cover garment, so there is always something between my weapon and the seat. I also have not noticed any wear on any of my cover garments.

I've not had a problem with wear and tear on my seats carrying at 9 and 3 o'clock, ever. How are you carrying?

Almost every patrol car I know that has seen extensive use has the seats torn up. Usually it is on the back of the seat by the waist. But, it is probably the handcuffs and not the pistol doing it. Not having studied it, I am guessing that this is the case since the seats almost always have two rips on the back and we simply don't have enough left handed officers to do it with holsters the way the right handers would. But most cops now carry two sets of cuffs, one on each hip.

Yeah, but LEOs carry several more things on their belt than most of us do and they do not have a cover garment. And police cruisers are HEAVILY used. They receive much more abuse than the average person's vehicle and much higher mileage.

My G21sf + light holster bottoms out the right part of the cushion. My cuff pouches and keepers grind away at the lower back cushion. It's only visible in cars with over 60k miles.

Only damage i get in my mustang is when I carry a Commander length or longer 1911 OWB. The bushing scratches the center console up.

I have the same problem, so I pick up the lumbar support from Autozone, cost about $15. Works great!
