Online poll, people want stricter laws

#1

Post by RPB »

What do you think of current gun laws in the United States?
Current laws are too strict. Any infringement upon gun owners' rights is an infringement upon the 2nd amendment. 29%
Current laws are not strict enough. We need to regulate access to deadly weapons. 70%

Our mission is to keep it a States' Rights issue and not a federal mandate. If the people in New York want stricter gun control laws, let them have them IN New York. It will serve them right.

I ain't going to New York anyhow...been there and done that.

I hear that.
I've never been. Never want to. So many people, nothing but concrete and glass. Need a little elbow room and green space. How anyone gets a nights sleep cycle with all that artificial light and noise outside is beyond me.

"Thou shalt not use a hi-cap PEZ dispenser to commit murder"

That's more specific

Thing is, we don't need more specificity, we don't need more laws, we don't need stricter laws,
we need more compliance ... with the 613->10->2->1 laws

Thou shall not kill your Congressperson with a Glock with 31 rounds in it, especially in AZ.

To paraphrase Oldgringo, Been there, done that (several times)

And by the way, I just love the way the question is worded:

"Current laws are too strict. Any infringement upon gun owners' rights is an infringement upon the 2nd amendment."

Makes anyone selecting this position sound like a flaming hard core gun nut who likely takes exception to any restrictions on 2nd amendment rights up to and including tactical atomic.

Since no one has selected the "Not sure" option, I suspect that those who chose the first option (laws too strict), are willing to accept the tag of "Gun Nut" to get their point across.

Put me in that category please.

The wording is fine for NY.
NY laws are too strict. I know, I used to live under them.

the wording of the poll certainly is meant to make one choose more gun laws. Otherwise, it sounds like you want to arm Charles Manson and let him loose in the local elementary school. The sad thing is that's how they get poll results they can hold out as fact to anyone who will listen (sheep).

I have family and friends back east so don't hold it against me. Not all are anti gun. I still have friends in Jersey who can't believe they let us carry that extra super deadly hollow point ammunition around that kills with one shot. It is still illegal in Jersey. I know but they just have not grown up around handguns as much. There are still a good amount of hunters but handguns are taboo. Like the bumper sticker says "I got here as quick as I could".
