I am just entering the black gun arena. I realize this ammo is not premium but is it ok to use steel case.

A 1:7 twist is too fast for best accuracy with 55gr bullets get the 62 grain. The polymer coating won't cause the problems the lacquer coating does.

It's ok. it has some draw backs and can cause some premature wear. But for everyday plinking there are plenty of people who use it and it is cost effective (although not as much as it used to be). i don't know that I would use it regularly in an expensive or home defense rifle but for a fun gun why not :-)

Steel case can damage the rifle when it loads. It is dirty and the coating can gum up if it is melts in a hot gun. I use it in my rifle but wouldn't in a rifle that I ever planned to compete with or to save my life. Same with reloads for that matter. I suggest you examine it to make sure the coating is not messed up. I have never found one that had spurs on the case or a cracked case or anything but as they ramp up production they could do like Wolf did and sacrifice quality for production numbers.
