DFW: Gunsmith help needed.

#1

Post by Beiruty »

I need to remove the front sight post from my SIG 556 Swat Patrol. I got the instruction from the SigArms556.com. However, it was too tough to do it (maybe I do no have the right tools) even when I used anti-freeze spray. the rear diopter sight was a piece of cake to remove, 1 screw and it came off the rail.

In short, I need:
1) A good reliable gunsmith that can do a good job removing the front sight post. Since, I am planning to sell the front post with the rear diopter. Damage to the front sight or my rifle is not acceptable option.
2) Since it takes less 20 mins to get it done. I am willing to pay up to $30.

Thanks for the referral.

Contact Tony at Winchester Gallery and Shooting range. He's the gunsmith there, and really knows his stuff. Their shop is at 820 and Lancaster, and his phone number is 817-507-0069. Honestly, I'd be shocked if he charged you $30... He's really reasonable with prices.
about 65 days to plastic...
Carry guns:
Springfield V-10 3.5" 1911(thanks again, Texasvet)
Glock 26
Springfield XD40 4"
Llama 1911 (hey, don't knock it. Never had a SINGLE reliability problem with it. Over 1000 rounds through it.)
(lots of long guns, and a few other pistols for other use)

It was quite drive, some 60 miles each way! However, 5 mins and Mr. Tony removed the front sight. I was upfront (something I like) told it would cost $10  and it would be a piece of cake. I said: "Go for it" What can I ask better than that?
I estimate that I paid more in Gas to get there and come back than I paid the Gunsmith.

Super easy to work with Tony! :thumbs2: :thumbs2:
