#1

Post by Medic218 »

Does anyone have one they might be willing to let me borrow so I can get the iron sights zero'd in?

They are really not terribly expensive, you could probably find one at any gun show. Beware, there are tools that do only elevation (part of the AK cleaning kit), for serious zeroing you want one that does elevation AND windage. I guess in the Soviet scheme, windage was done only by the unit armorer.

Amazon has an AK elevation and windage tool for $5.70 and free shipping, which is an excellent deal. Go to this link: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then look over to the right where it says "More Buying Choices" and pick the one that says "GRG MFG." For some reason I can't link directly to that one, but it appears when I bring up others. This is cheaper than driving to the gun show and paying admission and/or parking, or paying for shipping to borrow one. Besides, you should have one as part of your kit anyway -- the AK doesn't need much in the way of support, but this is one of the few :mrgreen: .

I just used a hammer, punch, and oil to drift my front sight. But probably not the best method.
